What Sins Forgotten
Title: What Sins Forgotten
Rating: PG
Summary: I consider this a Christmas drabble? It's Biblical fiction based on an Old Testament story you will hopefully recognize.

What Sins Forgotten

He wept. His hair dragged dust through marble and slate cracks, and he saw his kingdom shutter and shift under the balance of his mistake. What he wanted, what he had wanted most, was not his to give to his God. He had become dust before his death. He felt he was nothing, he felt he was blown away.

Still he rose, still donned the crown, and walked into the hall, a great weight on his shoulders. He wept and fasted, wept and prayed. He wanted to be at peace, knowing that his son would set up a place, a home for God. Yet, a Temple was no longer what he wished for most. Elohim...

David wanted only to forget his sin, to claim forgiveness and be born anew.

Hey. This was very interesting. Something different from what we're used to from you, but very touching. I loved it. Thanks for posting. S!

I, well, I don't recognize the story, but this is a beautiful anyway. I love the set up of "wet and fasted, wept and prayed."
