Two Original Poems
Title: Between Us
Rating: G
AN: For lolitaray.

Between Us

I dream of you
Of sitting on the beach
Underneath a sky lit-up
By constellations I've heard of
	But never seen
		--until now.

I dream of us
Alone in the dark
With the roaring blue waves.
I laugh with abandon
At the stretching night before us.

The sky is moonless
And others slumber in the dark and deep, leaving
Between us, the stars,
Blue southern spray, the sea,
You see? We are invisible.

Title: Behind the Moon
Rating: G
AN: This one is for me :)

Behind the Moon

Someday, Someday
I will find you	a place
Be it land, air, or sea, mountain or sky
Where troubles do not follow
And peace flows as easy as water, to be
Sipped from the spring where it
Runs in rivulets all around,
Mixing up mud for the heartsick:
A poultice for the wounded.
When even their pride forbids them drink,
They cannot help but soak therein.

I'll find you a place
Where the rhythm is roses to the cantering tide,
The night owl's call can call hackles to rise,
Mysteries rise to the gibbous Diane,
Imagination looses its worldly binds,
But spite rests its world-weary head evermore.

I'll find you that place. I think it may be
Behind the moon, or under the sea,
Inside a book, in the tops of a tree,
And we can escape there, just you and me
And live where the winds blow free and clear
Without shadowed day or wasted year.
The tears you'll shed shall be ones of joy.
When you drink from the spring, soak in the sun,
And see the darknesses leave, one-by-one,
You'll know without doubt that they'll never return.

Hi Jess,

I have nothing to say! Just beautiful, especially the second one! So many ways this could be applied, but being selfish, I like it best when thinking of Jack & Ennis!

I hadn't even thought of it that way, so thank you for sharing that particular interpretation with me! It does work for fandom! Thanks a bunch.

Oh, lovely poem, the words and meaning are so accessible, I often find poetry a little obscure.

Thank you for this gem.

Thanks! I think poetry can span a range of accessibility. Maybe you would like someone like Longfellow, whose poetry tends to be a little less veiled. Frost is also good for that, although his poems often have double meanings as well. Thank you for reading!
