A Flush of Hearts
Title: A Flush of Hearts
Fandom: N/A Original Poem
Rating: PG
Summary: A card game? In four stanzas. You tell me what you think it's about.
AN: For lolitaray

A Flush of Hearts

"I'll see your one and raise you one," said I,
Stretched lazily on the couch, no mind
To mind the world without the cabin--
A world bare of warmth and light.

"I'll see your two and raise one more," I
Snicker when your eyes glare up
I see the words you do not speak:
The accusations of the bluff.

"I'll see that three and go up FOUR!"
I am not laughing now, nor you,
We, curled 'round the fire, still
And draw on fate to play its cards.

I see that you are true. "All in"--
A whisper now. You call, I show.
I have a flush and now you know
I was not bluffing-- now nor then.

A Flush Of Hearts
Maybe it's my naturally dirty mind, but I think it's a game between Jack and Ennis, lying on the floor in Don Wroe's cabin. And, as usual , it leads to sex! Whoopie!!!
Thanks. Carole

A Flush of Hearts....
Well, I agree with Carole. A game that leads to more fun than flipping cards!!

Thanks....Adrianne

Hi:

I think it's about E and J risking showing their love, where one small step leads to each one making the other, meeting, then raising again. And when they reach the highest, they both know how the other one felt all along.

I think, in this card game, everybody wins.
Very nice. Thank you. : )
